Helping Hand Center held its annual family picnic on June 28 at Walker Park in Burr Ridge. A record-breaking 400 clients, family members, volunteers, board members and staff came out to enjoy the company and fun.
Phil Palmer of Palmer Place in La Grange donated the burgers and did the grilling himself. Community partners NuMark Credit Union, St. John of the Cross Parish, UPS, Lubrizol and balloon artist Tommy Twister provided games, crafts, raffles and other activities.
Countryside-based Helping Hand serves more than 650 children and adults with developmental disabilities through its mission to assist people in achieving their greatest level of independence through quality programs and services.
