A Chicago woman was charged with a felony count of retail theft from the Victoria’s Secret store at 570 Village Center Drive, Burr Ridge, and possession of stolen merchandise on July 23.
A store employee called police at 3:05 p.m. to report a customer was acting suspiciously. The police waited for the customer, who was in the fitting room, to leave the store.
Dolores J. Ray, 43, of 5922 W. Erie St., is accused of removing security sensors from items in the dressing room and putting the items, which cost $139, in her bag without paying for them.
Prior to that, she had exchanged merchandise for cash, using someone else’s identification. The employees believe the merchandise was stolen from another store.
Ray was charged with unlawful use of identification and tampering with theft detection devices.
Shenell Nutall, 27, of 1811 N. Mason Ave., No. 1, Chicago, came into the store with Ray and was charged with possession of stolen property. Police said they found merchandise stolen from Nordstrom, Carson Pirie Scott and other Victoria’s Secret stores in Nutall’s car.
