Lyons running back Leonard Ross, a rising senior, announced his oral commitment to Miami, Ohio. Sunday. He chose the RedHawks over offers from Northern Illinois, Nevada, and Illinois. The big bodied back has taken a few visits to campus, and overall that is what swayed him to commit before his senior season gets started.

“For one the school is gorgeous, and from an academic standpoint there aren’t that many schools in the nation that can compete,” Ross said. “From a football standpoint, I truly believe that the new head coach, Chuck Martin, and his staff can rebuild a football program and bring it back to where it is supposed to be.”

Ross joins Marian Catholic quarterback Billy Bahl and Lakes offensive lineman Ryan Mullen as area prospects committed to the RedHawks class of 2015.
