Wife of Loop shooting victim steps in to lead firm as CEO husband recovers

The wife of a La Grange technology executive has stepped in as acting CEO while her husband continues to recover from a workplace shooting, according to a company statement.

Jody LaVoie is able to maintain the vision of her husband, Steven, for Chicago-based ArrowStream, a statement released Aug. 5 said. A selection process is underway to name an interim CEO, and an announcement is expected in the near future.

The statement said Steven LaVoie remains in stable but critical condition and is receiving excellent medical care, surrounded by family, friends and colleagues.

The father of three daughters was shot following a business disagreement by a friend and employee, who then turned the gun on himself July 31.

Neighbors in La Grange have rallied around the family, showing their support by tying red ribbons around parkway trees as Steven LaVoie’s favorite color.
