Fun Fest coming to the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs

Snow cones, a jump castle and lots of fun will be part of The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs’ first Fun Fest on Aug. 23.

The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a brief informational meeting about the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs program, including a chance to meet the faculty. Afterward, guests can participate in a variety of workshops, sign up for classes, and enjoy treats and activities. Admission is free, and new students, theater veterans and the public at large are welcome to attend. The festivities will end at 1 p.m.

Students can enroll in a variety of classes including acting, musical theater, improv, masked performance, clowning and technical theater. Year round, semester-long, and mini-sessions are available for students in first through 12th grades.

Kindergartners may join the program in the spring.

In addition to providing an arts education for young people, the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs also strives to be an outlet for exploration and acceptance and encourages students to develop collaborative skills while honing their artistic talents. The program nurtures budding artists all while strengthening self-confidence and fostering life-long friendships.
