Family Fest for CURED offers music, dance and family activities

Head out to Terrace View Park in Oakbrook Terrace on Saturday, Aug. 23 for an afternoon of live music, dance performances, food, games and a refreshing beer garden.

The third annual Drew’s Family Fest for CURED runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Musical acts include Thirty Bands Later, Brandy and Brent Thompson, and Rev. Bob’s Rockin Blues Band. Dancers from Expression Dance Studio and Beyond Words Dance Company will perform on the main stage.

Also back is “Kam’s Craft Tent,” where visitors can purchase a $1 quilt square and add a handprint to a quilt, which will be auctioned off at the end of the event.

Andrew and Kristina Mastriano started the event to raise money and awareness for eosinophilic disorders. Two of the Mastrino’s children, Drew and Kamrin suffer from eosinophilic enteropathy, an inflammatory disease in the digestive system which makes it difficult to keep food down. Sufferers struggle with severe vomiting, weight loss, low energy and immune problems.

100% of all proceeds will be donated to the CURED Foundation, curedfoundation.org

Tickets are $8 until August 19, $10 at the door and include a donation to CURED, rides, crafts and entertainment including a dunk tank.
