Police blotter: Motorcyclist in accident checks out of hospital, gets charged with DUI

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ALCOHOL

Dennis R. Phillips, 37, of 16W755 Mockingbird Lane, Building 43, Unit 104, Willowbrook, was transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital at about 10:55 p.m. Aug. 3, after he was in an accident at 16W241 S. Frontage Road. Phillips said he had tried to avoid hitting a deer with his motorcycle. At about 5 a.m. Aug. 4, Phillips left the hospital in a taxicab without being discharged. The Burr Ridge police issued an arrest warrant and Phillips turned himself in at the police station at later that day where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

John R. Osborne, 26, of 14640 Mustang Drive, Homer Glen, was arrested on the 8500 block of state Route 83 at about 2:50 a.m. Aug. 3 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane use and not having insurance.

Krzysztof Lokaj, 46, of 9148 N. 88th Ave., Hickory Hills, was arrested on Interstate 55 near County Line Road at about 6:50 p.m. July 31 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Willowbrook

THEFT

At 4:50 p.m. Aug. 5, Gloria Garcia, 20, of the 3600 block of Wesley Avenue, Berwyn, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Aug. 5 and charged with retail theft on the 7100 block of state Route 83.
