Families will learn about one of the best children’s theater programs in the country at the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs’ Fun Fest, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at 4384 Hampton Ave.
“It’s a chance for families to learn more about our program, to meet our faculty and to enjoy a lot of fun activities and some theater workshops,” said Children’s Director Leslie Price. “It’s all for free.”
Sample classes will include makeup, musical theater and improv.
CTWS was founded in 1946. It offers a wide variety of classes for students in first through twelfth grade. The list includes acting, musical theater, improv, masked performance, clowning and more. In addition to developing theater skills, the classes are designed to foster collaboration and friendships.
There will be a jump castle and a dunk tank at the Fun Fest. Treats will be served.
Price said the event will show parents and kids “some of the valuable things that we offer.”
