Preschool friends host lemonade stand for LaGrange Park boy with cancer

La Grange commuters had the chance to quench their thirst and help a local boy when they stopped by a lemonade stand at the Stone Avenue station on Aug. 4.

Four-year-old Chris Elliot of LaGrange Park was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive cancerous tumor, and is currently undergoing rigorous rounds of chemotherapy to be followed by radiation. Families from his preschool class at Kensington School in La Grange wanted to help. The parents set up the stand and the kids helped man it and pour the drinks.

The day’s total came to $4331 and more fundraisers are planned.
