La Grange’s Jessika Jackson enters her senior year at Nazareth Academy already sure of her future plans to become a doctor after spending her summer attending a pre-med program at Harvard University. Jackson was nominated to the National Student Leadership Council which brings together high school students from around the world to experience what everyday life is like for members of their chosen professions. She spent her summer in the shoes of a medical student, attending lectures by Harvard professors, becoming Red Cross CPR Certified, studying medical ethics and even wearing a beeper for 2 a.m. calls.

“Even with all that going on, my favorite part of the program was the lecture about the need for medical practitioners because it inspired me even more to become a doctor and help those in need.”
