Pediatric cardiologist brings expertise to Loyola

T. Marsha Ma, M.D., has joined Loyola University Health System’s cardiology team as a pediatric cardiologist. She also is an assistant professor in the department of pediatrics at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Ma’s medical interests include pediatric cardiology, adult and adolescent congenital heart disease, lipid abnormalities and obesity. She is active in research and is working with a team at Loyola to do more research into pediatric obesity. She has completed research in the past looking at using 3-dimensional echocardiography to evaluate the right ventricular function before and after an exercise stress test. She is passionate about education future physicians and medical staff her in the U.S. as well as in China.

She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed her residency in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Ann & Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Ma sees patients at the Loyola Center for Children’s Health, 1S260 Summit Ave., and the main medical center campus in Maywood.
