Community Memorial Foundation elects officers

The Community Memorial Foundation Board has re-elected its 2013 officers for a second year and added one new director.

The chairman is Jeffrey Simmons of Hinsdale, managing director at Dearborn Partners, LLC. The vice-chairman and treasurer is John Madden of La Grange, chairman and chief executive officer of FNBC of La Grange.

Beth Prohaska of Clarendon Hills, senior vice president at Comerica Bank, is secretary. Greg DiDomenico of La Grange is president and chief executive officer.

“The foundation is privileged to again have board leadership that is committed to the foundation’s local philanthropic efforts,” said Greg DiDomenico, the foundation’s president.

The new director is Michael Bruni of La Grange. Bruni is a partner at Laurus Strategies. Leading the firm’s Non-Profit & Public Affairs Consulting Practice, Bruni and his team provide nonprofits with leadership and strategy development, full-service fund development, communication services and corporate philanthropic solutions.

In the last 18 years, Community Memorial Foundation has awarded more than $57 million in grants to organizations serving people in the western suburbs.

Founded in 1995, Community Memorial Foundation works in partnership with nonprofit community agencies, government and business to measurably improve the health of those who live and work in 27 west suburban communities.
