Willowbrook-Burr Ridge Chamber announces annual award recipients

BURR RIDGE — The Willowbrook-Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 2012 awards that recognize support, involvement and participation in ongoing Chamber activities.
Denise Marchetti of Mutual of Omaha in Rosemont was named Member of the Year. As one of the newer members, Marchetti has played an active role in both the Women In Business Committee and the Golf Committee.
Bannerville USA in Burr Ridge was recognized as Business of the Year. A longtime member, Bannerville’s support has been integral to the success of several Chamber events and programs, such as Cruisin’ 66 Car Show & Fest, Giving Tree and the Annual Dinner Dance.
Ken Sitkowski of Bannerville USA in Burr Ridge was named Director of the Year. A Chamber director since 2010, Sitkowski has served as Board of Directors secretary, program chairperson, dinner dance chairperson and on the Audit Committee.
Joseph Stastny of Mulcahy, Pauritsch, Salvador & Co. Ltd. in Burr Ridge was recognized with the Presidential Award. A Chamber Director since 2009, Stastny has served as treasurer as well as the Budget/Finance Chairperson.
Lisa Shemroske, formally of Ashton Place Maries Catering in Willowbrook, was recognized as the outgoing president. Serving as president since 2009, Shemroske has worked tirelessly for many of the Chamber events.
Shemroske has served as Administrative Professionals Day chairperson, Business Expo chairperson, Cruisin’ 66 Car Show & Fest Committee member, Dinner Dance Committee member, Giving Tree Committee, Nominating Committee chairperson and Women In Business Focus Group member. She will serve as past president.
The awards were presented at the Jan. 9 regular Chamber luncheon held at the Marriott Southwest-Burr Ridge.
