The Pleasant Dale Park District is negotiating with a potential buyer for the district’s Chalet property.
Park Board President Kevin Burke said a buyer has shown “extreme interest” in the property at 8300 Wolf Road, Burr Ridge, which has sat vacant for about 18 months.
“We’re still going back and forth,” concerning details and a selling price, Burke said.
When the former fitness center closed in April 2012 Burke said the property was costing the district $200,000 to $250,000 each year.
The 60,000-square-foot facility, which sits on nearly 3 acres of land, has an indoor pool, running track, fitness room, basketball and volleyball courts, a dance and aerobics studio, locker rooms with a sauna, a steam room and a restaurant and bar area.
The property is listed at $1.1 million.
