The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.
Shop Melee, 16W231 S. Frontage Road, reported several apparent attempts to break into the business, the most recent of which took place between 7 p.m. Oct. 11 and 6 a.m. Oct. 12 when someone removed a screen from an exterior window. Company representatives told police that similar incidents had taken place about six times in the last month, but no entry was gained. Police said the screens probably were removed by someone looking for an unlocked window.
Mixing bowls, mixing paddles, a laptop computer, a radio and a compressor were taken after someone forced their way into Edelweiss Pastry, 413 Rockwell Court, between 9:30 a.m. Oct. 13 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 14. Entry was made through a rear service door. While investigating the burglary, Burr Ridge police discovered damage to a rear service door at 411 Rockwell Court. No entry was made.
Four tires were taken from a truck parked at Compass Trucking, 15W580 N. Frontage Road, between 10:34 and 10:44 p.m. Oct. 8. Someone in a red pickup truck is believed to have taken the tires. A witness provided police with a partial license plate number for the vehicle.
Two checks totaling more than $3,200 were taken from a home in the 16W300 block of 94th Street between 2 and 4 p.m. Oct. 7. A utility technician visited the home during those hours.
Between $500 and $600 is missing from a bedroom drawer of a home in the first block of Bay Rum Court. The theft was reported on Oct. 7.
Two rented patio heaters were stolen from a partking lot at Advanse, 6880 N. Frontage Road, between 12 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 5.
Vandals painted lewd pictures and words on parked vehicles and street signs on the 400 block of North County Line Road, the 500 block of Ravine Road and the 300 block of Phillippa Street, between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and 8 a.m. Oct. 12.
