Two homes in Hinsdale were broken into Thursday night while residents were away, Hinsdale police report.
The Police Department issued an alert on its Facebook page Friday stating homes on the 700 blocks of Oak and Jefferson streets were burglarized between 12:30 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
Jewelry, an iPad and cash were taken from the two homes, police said.
Residents in the area who may have any video surveillance footage from a private residential video surveillance system in the area are encouraged to contact the investigations division at (630) 789-7070.
Police said forced entry was made to both homes, and investigators believe the same offenders may have entered both residences. Investigators are working cooperatively with investigators from neighboring communities where similar burglaries have occurred.
One burglary was in the Old Town North neighborhood, on the 4200 block of Western Avenue. The other was in the Field Park neighborhood, on the 4100 block of Howard Avenue.
