An Orland Park woman was charged with residential burglary earlier this month for allegedly stealing jewelry and electronics from an Indian Head Park home.
Kimberly A. Welch, 48, of 10242 Hickory Drive, Orland Park, was arrested in court Oct. 9 and charged with burglarizing a relative’s condominium on the 100 block of Acacia Circle on Aug. 19, while the homeowners were away.
There were no signs of forced entry to the home. Indian Head Park Police Sgt. Curt Novak said Welch is related to the homeowners and had a key to the home.
A Samsung laptop computer, a Samsung 24-inch television, and miscellaneous compact discs for the computer were reported stolen. In addition, an engagement ring with a diamond larger than one carat, two gold wedding bands, two men’s ruby rings, an Open Heart pendant with a diamond, a gold key of life, sapphire earrings, and several gold chains were missing.
On Oct. 21, Marvin A. Jeter, 48, of 7251 S. South Shore Drive, Chicago, was arrested at his parole office in Chicago and charged with possession of stolen property from the Indian Head Park burglary.
Novak said 90 percent of the possessions stolen in the Aug. 19 burglary were recovered. Jeter had pawned them at a pawn shop, Novak said.
