The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.
A resident reported Feb. 11 that someone made a $191 purchase from BestBuy.com and charged it to her Chase Bank card.
A resident told police a man called her Feb. 12, claiming to be an officer from the federal tax department. He told her she owes $4,850 in back taxes and told her to pay the debt with gift cards. The man threatened her with a warrant for her arrest, if she did not pay the money. The woman did not send any money and called the police.
The driver of a 2013 Hyundai found his rear windshield was cracked in a spiderweb-like fashion while the car was parked on the 100 block of Burr Ridge Parkway between 6:40 p.m. and 11 p.m. Feb. 13.
A resident of Village Center Drive reported clothing and jewelry were taken from her home on Feb. 16. The police saw no signs of forced entry.
