The DuPage Country Sheriff arrested a 53-year-old man in relation to an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon involving an altercation on a school bus that endangered two children, according to release from the sheriff's office.
Sheriff John Zaruba announced today the arrest of a West Chicago man late yesterday afternoon after he recklessly took two juveniles off the school bus.
Jimmy Palmer (dob/11/19/60) of the 3 N. 500 block of Locust, in West Chicago was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Trespass to a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Endangering the Health or Life of a Child, Failure to give Aide or Information at an Accident which are all class A Misdemeanors and he was also charged with Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
At approximately 4:00 pm yesterday the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local bus company who stated that an unknown male forced his way on the bus and removed two juveniles. The bus driver was dropping off students on the schedule route when the bus driver was cut off by the vehicle, which caused a minor accident between the vehicle and bus. No students were injured in the accident. Then, it is alleged that Palmer approached the bus, forced his way onto the bus and removed 2 juvenile students, one later identified as his son and fled the area.
Palmer posted 10% of his $2000.00 bond and was released from the DuPage County Jail.
