Dads can score big with their son by taking him to the White Sox Father/Son Hitting Night, 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Park District of La Grange’s Recreation Center, 536 East Ave. Instructors from the Sox Academy “will run the children through different drills and techniques,” Recreation Supervisor Kevin Miller said. “A lot of it is pretty basic. Some of it — depending on the age — is a little more advanced.”

The kids aren’t the only ones learning, though. The fathers also benefit from the session.

“They give direction to the dads on how to do it at home — how to interact without being too over-the-top,” Miller said.

This is the third year that the park district has hosted this event. The Hitting Night is very popular but there is room for more father/son groups.

The cost is $49 per couple for residents, $64 for nonresidents and $54 for people in the Neighborhood Network.
