The West Suburban Community Band will perform in Western Springs at 7:30 p.m. June 15 at Springdale Park, 53rd Street and Wolf Road, and 6:30 p.m. July 20 at Ridgewood Park, 57th Street and Grand Avenue.

WHEATON

Summer Symphony Concerts at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, are held at 8 p.m. on select Saturdays on the lawn outside the First Division Museum. A large tent covers the orchestra stage but the audience is under the stars and oak trees. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics. June 25: The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra presents “An American Salute,” with patriotic classics by composers John Philip Sousa, Aaron Copland, John Williams and others. July 9: West Suburban Symphony Festival Orchestra presents “Pops in the Park,” a concert for all ages featuring opera and movie music inspired by the animal kingdom. July 23: DuPage Symphony Orchestra presents “Treasures of the Silver Screen,” a showcase of Hollywood film scores including music from “Gone with the Wind,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Exodus,” “The Magnificent Seven” and others.

Cantigny Park, 1s151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, offers free summer concerts on Sunday afternoons, as well as Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Also, Summer Sounds will feature complimentary live music from 5-7 p.m. every Thursday, June through September. Sunday concerts feature lawn seating and are free with paid parking. Performances take place at the Cantigny bandshell unless otherwise noted. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs. Picnics are welcome, and Le Jardin (in the Cantigny Visitors Center) serves lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Parking fees are $5 per vehicle or $2 off-peak (before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.). Aug. 14, 3 p.m.: U.S. Air Force Band (jazz ensemble) performs in front of the First Division Museum. Aug. 21, 3 p.m.: Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band (jazz). Aug. 28, 3 p.m.: Pan Go Steel Band (steel drums). Sept. 4, 3 p.m.: Rick “Elvis” Saucedo (Elvis Presley tribute). Sept. 5, 3 p.m.: Jim Guter’s Big Band.
