The Women’s Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago hosted their 11th annual Medicine Ball on May 12 at the Peninsula, Chicago.

Nearly 400 guests attended the black-tie event which netted $750,000 for the many programs and services that RIC provides.

Organizers played with the theme, Return to Havana, by including a rum bar and a gourmet dinner featuring ceviche, salad and a banana leaf roasted beef filet. The Cuban spirit of the decor included exotic foliage and orchids in orange, red and apricot tones accented with candles. The 911 Mambo Orchestra opened the floor to dancing.

Janet Davies of ABC-Channel 7 served as the evening’s emcee.
