BURR RIDGE — HGTV host, designer and author Monica Pedersen appeared at The Kohler Store in Burr Ridge on June 21 and spent time greeting fans and signing copies of her new book, Make it Beautiful: Designs and Ideas for Entertaining at Home.

All ticket proceeds from the event benefited the Salt Creek Ballet, with locations in Westmont and Hinsdale.

Guests were not only inspired by the star’s design and entertaining concepts but enjoyed a performance by young dancers from SCB performing sections from “Paquita,” staged by SCB faculty member Emily Moser.

Monica Pedersen is a longtime friend of Kim Bartuch of Clarendon Hills. The Bartuch family is featured in the book and their daughter is a student of SCB.

More than 50 people attended the event which raised money for arts programming at SCB.
