HINSDALE — The Hinsdale High School District 86 Board met in closed session Monday during a specifically called meeting for a board self-evaluation. The discussion, which all board members except Dianne M. Barrett attended, lasted for two hours and 40 minutes.
Barrett has filed a complaint against District 86, related to board members’ access to student records. The district in return is seeking sanctions against Barrett to recoup some of its legal costs related to the case.
District 86 Superintendent Nicholas Wahl said Tuesday the board self-evaluation “was productive.” Board members evaluate their performance on an ongoing basis, he said.
“We got a good start,” Wahl said.
The board adjourned its executive session and reconvened in open session to discuss the district goals for the upcoming school year.
A representative of the Illinois Association of School Boards oversaw the discussion and facilitated activities to help identify goals, Wahl said. Board members worked on “refining and refocusing” strategies in the district’s three-year action plan, which is in its final year of implementation.
Wahl will review the goals and the board members will continue their discussion of them at the board’s meeting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 in the Black and Gold Room at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 South Clarendon Hills Road, Darien.
