Community Housing Association of DuPage has moved its offices to 531 E. Roosevelt Road in Wheaton.
The move is being made to better serve the affordable housing needs of residents.
In 1983, CHAD was established to provide affordable housing to low- and moderate-income families in DuPage County. Today, CHAD owns nearly 400 homes across DuPage and Kane counties, as well as in Aurora, Hillside and South Elgin.
According to CHAD’s executive director, Paul Chedda “CHAD is relocating to Wheaton so that it will be more centrally located, has more room for meetings with residents, will provide more offices for staff, and presents a more comfortable working space for all.”
CHAD’s mission to provide affordable housing to families and individuals in need will not change. In fact, the organization will provide more than $800,000 in rental assistance to more than 1,200 people this year alone. More than half of the households living in CHAD homes are single moms struggling to make ends meet and provide a safe and stable home for their children.
In addition, CHAD has programs to address the needs of military veterans and residents who are facing financial crisis.
