District 180’s Board of Education is moving forward with plans to replace wooden siding on Burr Ridge Middle School.
Superintendent Tom Schneider said the siding is nearly 30 years old and has become home to small animals that like its relative warmth.
The preliminary estimate for the project is $450,000, a total that Schneider said is within the district’s budget.
“We’ve been saving up to do this project for several years now, so we have the money to do it,” said Schneider.
The board will revisit the topic at its February meeting and plans to work with an architect in collecting bids for the siding soon.
