About 200 people filled the stands of the Hinsdale South High School gym on Monday to watch members of the school’s faculty take on students in the annual students vs. faculty basketball game.
The event, now in its fourth year, raises money for cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
“It was a pretty intense game,” said Greg Gardner, interim activities director and a member of the faculty squad.
The students came out victorious with a 69-67 win in overtime.
But the real winners of this event are those who benefit from the work of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Gardner wasn’t sure Tuesday how close the school came to its $15,000 goal.
Thirty students and faculty had their heads shaved for the cause during Monday’s game. Running the shears were stylists from Sports Clips.
