Burr Ridge commission recommends allowing sidewalk signs

Updated: June 12, 2012 11:41AM

The Burr Ridge Village Board on Monday will consider the Plan Commission’s recommendation that sidewalk signs be allowed in front of County Line Square and Village Center businesses.

Economic Development Director Doug Pollock said the signs are not allowed under village ordinance, but many businesses have started to use them to advertise sales and to draw people into their storefronts.

Plan Commission members on Monday unanimously recommended businesses be allowed to use one two-sided sign not to exceed 9 square feet on the sidewalk outside their businesses.
