Burr Ridge police have charged a Romeoville woman with drug possession, allegedly for having what police said was heroin.

Kristin Duff, 28, of 404 Honeytree Drive, Romeoville, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe, a misdemeanor. Burr Ridge police announced the charges Thursday, saying they arrested Duff at 5 p.m. May 23 as she was leaving the Spring Hill Suites Hotel, 15W090 N. Frontage Road.

Duff remains in custody on a $3,500 bond, police said.

Burr Ridge police said they received a complaint about a man and a woman in a stall of the women’s restroom at the hotel. They found Duff and another person leaving the hotel.

“While officers were speaking with Duff, a small package of suspected heroin fell from her sweatshirt,” police said in a press release Thursday. “She was taken into custody and a subsequent search by officers found the hypodermic syringe.”

The other person was sent on his way, police said.
