Burr Ridge police blotter for June 26

The following incidents were listed among the reports of the Burr Ridge Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DRUGS

Robert Jaworski, 18, of 1365 Chapman, Darien, was charged with possession of marijuana after an incident at McCullough Park, Plainfield and County Line roads, at 10:14 p.m. on June 19. Police saw Jaworski in the park after hours and reported finding marijuana in Jaworski’s car.

ALCOHOL

Sonny Nunez, 36, of 4548 Justine, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an unsafe vehicle after he was stopped at 2:33 a.m. Saturday while allegedly driving a car with no front tire. The stop took place on Carriage Way at North Frontage Road.

Kaitlyn O’ Shea, 18, of 12145 Prairie St., Lemont, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, improper lane use and under the state’s zero tolerance law for underaged drinking and driving after she was stopped on Route 83 near 91st Street at 4:26 a.m. on Friday.

Michael Leifert, 48, of 21900 S. West Frontage Road, Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use after a traffic stop on Interstate 55 near Route 83 at 2:30 a.m. on June 19.

BURGLARY

Tools and a global positioning system device were taken after someone punched the door locks on a work van parked on the 15W300 block of South Frontage Road. The burglary was reported at 9:06 p.m. on Sunday.

THEFT

Money was taken from a purse in a locker room at Emeritus of Burr Ridge, 6801 High Grove Blvd. The theft was reported at 3:11 p.m. on June 20.

DAMAGE

A sparkler was placed on a front porch of a home on Mallory Court, causing a small burn to a door mat. The incident was reported at about 4 p.m. June 18.
