School District 180 officials met last week with members of the district’s teachers union in yet another attempt to reach agreement on a contract.
The teachers at Burr Ridge Middle School and Anne M. Jeans Elementary School have been working without a contract since Sept. 1.
“We’re not very far apart at all,” said School Board President Paula Dupont, who did not attend the latest meeting.
“We’re still hoping it will get resolved soon,” she said.
“We continue to negotiate with them in good faith and hope that this will be wrapped up soon,” union spokeswoman and President Lynn Moynihan said, but no further dates have been set.
The teachers and administration continue to disagree over salary increases and the length of the school day.
