Burr Ridge Village Board notes

Among other business at their Sept. 10 meeting, Burr Ridge trustees:

• saw a presentation by the Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense agency, bestowing the Patriots Award to Police Chief John Madden and Deputy Chief Tim Vaclav. The award was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers.

• heard a fiscal year 2011-12 general fund update from Village Administrator Steve Stricker. The village is in a better financial state than expected with a surplus of $541,334. The information presented in the Sept. 10 meeting has not yet been audited, but auditors will complete their report and give a full presentation at the Village Board’s next meeting on Sept. 24. ~.
