Best station in the nation

Lyons Township High School WLTL Radio 88.1 FM was recently honored with 14 John Drury High School Radio Award nominations. The station is the leading nomination holder, dominating the rest of the field. WLTL is a four time recipient of the “Best Station in the Nation” award and is striving for another win this November, when winners will be announced.

The awards were created to acknowledge excellence in high school radio broadcasting. These awards were named in honor of award-winning ABC-Chicago news anchor John Drury. There are 12 individual categories, where students compete head-to-head for the best production broadcast.

WLTL Radio is the student-run and operated station of Lyons Township High School and has been on the air since 1968. The station has won more than 100 national awards since 1997. WLTL is nationally recognized, with multiple awards from Columbia College High School Awards and Communicator Awards, sponsored by the International Academy for the Visual Arts.
