HINSDALE — Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso wasn’t declaring victory Tuesday night, despite apparently getting enough votes to secure the third of three spots as a DuPage County Board District 3 representative.
With all 128 precincts reporting, Grasso, a Republican, finished with 33,286 votes, 11 more than Democrat Sharon E. Bryant, who had 33,275.
Republican incumbents John Curran of Woodridge and Brian Krajewski of Downers Grove were the leading vote getters with Curran tallying 36,069 votes and Krajewski accumulating 35,700.
“We still don’t know about absentee votes and provisionals,” Grasso said. “It’s too close to call. I’m sure Miss Bryant is going to want things looked at.
“Dupage County is certainly not as Republican as a lot of us Republicans believe.”~.
