Burr Ridge annexes truck business

BURR RIDGE — The Village Board approved an annexation agreement Monday that brings Compass Truck Sales on North Frontage Road into the village limits, avoiding a threatened forced annexation.
As part of the agreement, Compass management will cease operation of its truck driving school no later than March 1 and will construct a 16-foot wall on the property’s north side, identical to the wall installed by the adjoining Saia property.
The village began efforts to annex the property after neighbors complained that Compass, owned by Burr Ridge resident Roy Dobrasinovic, was operating a trucking school on the property without proper zoning. Neighbors said student drivers produce dust and noise that weren’t a problem before the school opened several months ago.
