HINSDALE — Hinsdale High School District 86 received a $50,000 grant to help pay for a roof at Hinsdale South.

The money comes from the state’s $50 million School Maintenance Grant Program. All school districts were eligible to apply for a grant to help pay for the maintenance of buildings or structures used for educational purposes, including replacing playground equipment, roof repairs and resealing a parking lot, state Rep. Patricia Bellock, R-47th, explained in a letter listing DuPage County schools that received funds from the program.

The program provides matching funds up to $50,000 for eligible projects. District 86 Business Manager Jeffrey Eagan applied for funding to reimburse the district in part for a new roof over the west balcony at Hinsdale South, a project that totaled $264,000.

“All schools who applied received money from the grant,” Bellock stated.~.
