Gower teachers to consider deal

BURR RIDGE — Progress was made during a third mediation session between the Gower Elementary District 62 School Board and its teachers, who have been working without a contract since before school began this year.
“We reached a tentative agreement,” Board President Ryan Asmus said.
The most recent negotiating session was held Nov. 20, just before school was dismissed for Thanksgiving Break.
He said the union members are expected to vote on the contract’s ratification this week. If ratified, the board will vote when it meets to interview superintendent finalists Friday and Saturday.
