BURR RIDGE — Helping the hungry this holiday can be as fun as it is rewarding.
The annual food drive at Global Luxury Imports in Burr Ridge invites the public to help others while rubbing elbows with members of the Chicago Blackhawks and admiring a room full of exotic automobiles.
Hosted by Hinsdale residents Sultan and Sakeba Issa of the Issa Family Foundation, the food drive at 161 Tower Drive, Ste. J, is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Issas, owners of the luxury car dealership, will welcome Chicago Blackhawks players Dave Bolland, Dan Carcillo and Brent Seabrook. The players will sign autographs from 2 to 3 p.m.
Last year’s Issa Family Foundation food drive collected $20,000 and more than 1,000 pounds of food for the Chicago Food Depository.
Donations of food and checks, payable to The Greater Chicago Food Depository, can be dropped off at Global Luxury Imports through Dec. 10.
