BURR RIDGE

The Burr Ridge Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the people responsible for stealing packages off of several front porches in the area.

Packages containing clothing were taken from porches on the first block of Shiloh Court and on the 8700 block of Polo Ridge Court on Dec. 18.

Contents were taken from packages left on porches in the 100 block of Kraml Drive and the 8500 block of Walredon Avenue on Dec. 19.

Burr Ridge, along with police departments in several surrounding towns, are investigating the thefts, most of which occurred at dusk. Surveillance video shows a light-colored minivan seen in the area. A subject, possibly female, is seen exiting the minivan from the passenger side, running to the porch, taking the package and running back to the vehicle, which then leaves with its lights off.

Residents are advised to reroute deliveries to a local facility for pick-up or have a trusted neighbor store packages inside. Anyone who observes suspicious activity should call dial 911 immediately.
