Pleasantdale Science Night an experiment in family fun

Who would stay home and play video games when they can spend the evening playing with foaming goop or launching a baking soda rocket?
Judging from the turnout at Pleasantdale 107’s Science Night, the answer might be no one.
“Tonight is all about hands-on discovery. We want them to be experiencing science for themselves,” said teacher Erin Oskroba, co-coordinator of the annual event.
For one evening each year the gym at Pleasantdale Elementary School becomes an interactive science fair for students and their families. This year’s Science Night offered guests 27 experiments that included hover crafts, experiments with fog and the chance to walk on eggs, without breaking them, of course.
“Our biggie this year is elephant toothpaste,” Oskroba said.
The kid-friendly project turns hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, dry yeast and food coloring into an oozy, gooey foam.
“We want them to have fun with science,” elementary Principal Matt Vandercar said.
