Teachers and staff from Lyons Township High School took over the La Grnage McDonald’s Oct. 11, as the school used the opportunity to make money for its Relay for Life event scheduled for June.
A variety of teachers participated in McTeacher’s Night where they worked at the drive through, made french fries, greeted customers, kept the lobby clean and took orders from their students.
The lineup consisted of Kris Costopoulos on the drive-through, Zuellen Wiersma, Jason Brauer, Kirsten Manthei, Kate Ebner, Jeremy Vrtis, Jessica Drogos, Jon Beutjer and Brian Mahoney at the front counter, Toby Casella on fries, Julia Brenson and Danielle Mackovitch on ice cream, Leilani Dominguez manning the drink station and Tim Spitsberg keeping the lobby clean the entire 3 hours.
WLTL radio kept the students and faculty entertained with music and dancing with Ronald McDonald. Brittany Sidoti made it all happen and she had some great dance moves at the event.
Lyons Township has been involved with the Relay for Life program for the last 10 years. This June will mark the high school’s 11th anniversary in raising money and awareness of cancer.
