The Boy Scouts of America, Des Plaines Valley Council is ready to hoe down.
Plans are under way for the first Hoe Down fundraiser Nov. 3 at The Barn at Arabian Knights Farm in Willowbrook.
“We expect this to be a great time, with wonderful food, an exciting auction, and a chance to kick up our heels on the dance floor in support of Scouting,” said James Honan, president of the council.
Hoe Down Committee Chairman Sheri Sauer called on all of Scouting’s supporters in the community to join in.
“This will be a lot fun in support of a program that enriches the lives and development of many young people in our area,” she said. “This mission has never been more important and needed than it is today.”
The Des Plaines Valley Council offers Scouting programs in 42 communities in the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicago.
The fundraiser will be from 6-10 p.m. Nov. 3 at The Barn, 6526 Clarendon Hills Road, Willowbrook. It will offer participants a western Chuck Wagon barbeque, an auction of items donated by community supporters and guided line-dancing.
Tickets are $45 per person, including dinner and two beverages. To buy tickets, donate items or become a sponsor, contact Mary Demski at (708) 354-1111. ~.
