The Hinsdale Central Equestrian Team volunteered recently at the Danada Fall Fest in Wheaton.
The Danada Equestrian Center offers a variety of educational and recreational experiences for DuPage residents including a holistic approach to horses and their daily care that teach basic riding skills and teach horsemanship through lectures and demonstrations.
“The Hinsdale Central Equestrian Club was thrilled to help at the Danada Equestrian Center”, said Kaitlyn Kapp, president of this newly formed club.
“We are a social club that leases or owns horses at different barns around the area,” she said.
Many of the girls in the club participated in in grooming demonstrations, educational and information tent and as guest horse-exhibitor chaperones.
Trish Spiroff, educational site manager at the Danada Equestrian Center asked the team to work with the horses because of their experience.
“Many people are curious about horses but they are very intimated by them because they are so big,” Kapp said. “We are the only high school equestrian club in the area so we were honored to help.”
The Fall Fest showcases Drill teams, driving horses, therapeutic riding, gaited horses, mounted shooting outlaws, vaulting, trail ride demonstrations, jumping, dressage, roman riding and bull whip teams. ~.
