Western Springs Music Club presents scholarships

At the Western Springs Music Club Honors Recital, Caroline Lupetini of Western Springs was awarded the First Place Senior Scholarship of the Barbra Parrello and Mary Veverka Scholarship.

LA GRANGE

The Western Spring Music Club held its honors recital Feb. 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in La Grange.

Students ranging in age from 6 to 17 performed selected piano pieces, and the club awarded scholarships.

The first places senior scholarship went to Caroline Lupetini of Western Springs, and the first place junior scholarship winner was Nicklas Nelson from Sleepy Hollow.

The scholarships are given in memory of two former members of the club, Barbra Parrello and Mary Veverka.

Other students who participated in the recital are Angelica Nasca, Madelyn Flynn, Jacob Flynn, Michael Flynn and Nick Pervan of Clarendon Hills; Alden Pritchard of Downers Grove; Brianna Griffin, Liam Murphy, Ava McLean and Irene Wilken of La Grange; Donna Carinato, Robert Lupetini, Kevin McKenzie and Zachary Lin of Western Springs; Daniel Clarke, Joseph Luo, Elizaveta Mangutov and David Zimmerman of Hinsdale; Emma Dahl of Brookfield; Scarette Peng of Lyons; Kipras Varkala of Willowbrook; Matthew Durek and Nathan Nelson of Westmont; and Joelle Peterchak of Burr Ridge.

Teachers who presented the students were Kathi Best, Gwyn Downey, Joyce Johnson, Yuliya Mangutov, Gail Quillman, Regina Sato and Linda Winfield. ~.
