Gov. Pat Quinn has signed a law making it illegal for drivers to use cellphones while operating a vehicle, according to WGN's website.
"Gov. Pat Quinn signed two new laws to make Illinois roads safer for all drivers.
One law prohibits the use of all hand-held mobile devices while driving on Illinois roads.
The other law increases penalties for drivers who cause an accident while using an electronic device, including possible prison time."
