After losing five members and Gov. Pat Quinn's creation of a panel to reform regional mass transit systems, the Metra Board met Friday, Aug. 16. According to the Chicago Sun-Times:
"The Metra Board — at least, what’s left of it — met Friday morning for the first time since its CEO resigned in June, setting off a string of board resignations in its wake.
The board’s last scheduled meeting was canceled only hours before it was to have begun July 22.
The remaining six board members were all smiles as they posed with winners of the Safety Awareness Campaign poster contest Friday, part of an agenda that included items such as contract approvals and the monthly financial report."
