Honor students recognized

Each year, Montini Catholic High School hosts its annual Academic Awards Banquet to honor seniors who have a achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater (on a 4.0 scale) and the top students from the sophomore and junior classes. Many of the students were honored for their involvement in the school’s National Honor Societies, including the French, Spanish, Thespian and Math honor societies. More than half of these seniors earned the Illinois State Scholar status. Many of these honor students are also members of the school’s 6th-in-State Math Team and Montini’s inter-scholastic athletic teams.

All students honored at the Academic Awards Banquet received the United States President’s Education Award.

“This honor is a testament to their determination and commitment to excellence,” wrote President Barack Obama. “Nothing is more important to our nation’s long-term success than preparing our future leaders for the world they will inherit.”
