Gower teachers OK new deal in Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE

A deal for Gower District 62’s teachers is imminent, School Board President Ryan Asmus said.

Asmus said a tentative agreement has been ratified by the Gower Teachers Association. The School Board is expected to vote on the final contract Dec. 18.

“We still have some language to work on,” between now and then, Asmus said. He said he will discuss details of the deal after it is approved by the board.

Teachers at Gower West Elementry and Gower Middle schools have been working without a contract since before school began this year.

The tentative agreement was reached Nov. 20 during a third negotiating session between the teachers, the board and a mediator.~.
