Musicians play to the top
Eighteen Lyons Township High School students were recently named All-State Musicians. Three students, seniors Matt Bandyk, Molly Smith and David Gosz, are repeat honorees, having been named among the All-State ranks last year. Also, four LT choir All-State singers earned spots on the coveted All State Honors Choir
All-State musicians are chosen by the Illinois Music Educators Association based upon preliminary auditions held in October. Each year, students from about 575 high schools in Illinois audition and about 1,200 students statewide are named All-State musicians.
These 18 students will perform at the Illinois Music Education Conference held at the Peoria Civic Center Jan. 23-26 along with other top musicians chosen from across the state.
