HINSDALE — Demolition continues on the southwest corner of Garfield and First streets in Hinsdale.
The section of the building on the east side of the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce was brought down today, leaving only the section closest to Garfield. Workers said they will tackle that structure Wednesday morning.
The crews keep spraying water from long hoses on the demolition site to keep the dust from flying about. The construction fencing also is covered in green canvas to prevent dust from leaving the site.
Meanwhile, across the street on the north side of First, renovation began today in Fuller’s Home & Hardware store. Doug Fuller said workers began taking down walls Tuesday in order to build a restaurant on the southern half of the two-story store, at 35 E. First St.
